Nipisihkopahk Secondary School (NSS) is part of the the Samson Cree reserve and is located in the central Alberta area known as Maskwacis.
The Nipisihkopahk Secondary School is a stunning facility opened in September of 1998. It offers a full academic based program to grades seven through twelve that follows the Approved Alberta Education Curriculum. Our students take part in both the Alberta Achievement Examinations for grade nine as well as the Alberta Diploma Examinations for grade twelve.
NSS promotes a safe and caring school community preparing students to take flight as responsible and active members of this community. The design of the school facilitates specialized approaches to education program delivery. In fond remembrance of and valuable contributions by three Samson Cree Nation members, the building recognizes them by having three special areas within the school named after them – The Jonas Applegarth Theatre, The Nancy Louis-Yellowbird Wing and The Sister Nancy LeClair (Lightning) Library. The Jonas Applegarth Theatre is a 300 seat multi-purpose community Performing Arts Centre, which is used for assemblies, concerts, special presentations, workshops, and community events.
